Employers must post EEOC's new poster to comply with GINA

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has revised its “Equal Employment Opportunity is the Law” poster to include information about Title II of the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008. Employers are waiting for the EEOC to issue final regulations implementing Title II of GINA, which prohibits the use of genetic information in employment decisions and restricts its collection and disclosure by employers. Employers are required to post the new notice by Title II’s effective date of Nov. 21, 2009.  (Select News, 16 Nov 2009)
